The staff of the Polotsk National Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve took part in the VI National Forum "Museums of Belarus", which was held from 28 to 30 May in Minsk on the basis of the Belarusian State Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War and the Minsk International Exhibition Center Belexpo. The theme of the forum this year: "Museum — the territory of historical memory". The forum was dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War.

The forum included a business and presentation program, as well as a round table on the development of cultural and cognitive tourism, which became a wonderful platform for sharing experience and discussions on topical issues of museum business in our country. The Polotsk Museum-Reserve also had something to share with its colleagues. Irina Vodneva, Head of the Museum of Local Studies, took part in the business program with her report "With Pride about Polotsk" (from the experience of the Museum of Local Studies — a branch of the Polotsk National Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve).

During the closing ceremony of the forum the results of the professional skills competition in four nominations were summarized. In the nomination "For the best cultural and educational program" the Polotsk National Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve was awarded a diploma of the II degree for the cultural and educational project "Military Childhood" prepared by Tatiana Smirnova, the leading researcher of the Children's Museum. Sergei Sarakach, Deputy Minister of Culture of the Republic of Belarus, presented the awards to the best museum workers of the country.

We congratulate Tatiana Smirnova and the whole staff of the Children's Museum on the well-deserved award!
